This morning, the world woke up to the reports that Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson apparently might be a ~thing~ now. If your response to that last sentence is "...Wait? What? Details now, plz," then, take a deep breath and scroll on.
So, why are Kim and Pete suddenly on the receiving end of couple speculation? Well, on Saturday night, they were spotted casually holding hands while hanging out at Knott's Berry Farm in SoCal with PDA masters Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.
Before you begin to fully ship this, keep in mind that it's *very* possible that Kim and Pete's PDA moment—which went down on a rollercoaster, while Kim was adorably mid-scream (People has pics and they are v worth putting your eyes on)—was purely platonic and not a signal of any romantic vibes. In fact, a source told People pretty much exactly that, in a quote imploring us to all calm TF down about the whole thing (not that calming TF down about this is completely possible, especially after Kim and Pete's Jasmine and Aladdin sketch/smooch on SNL earlier this month).
"They hang in the same circles so they will be together from time to time," the source insisted. "It's just friends hanging out."
FWIW, an Us Weekly source who personally witnessed Kim and Pete's hangout at the theme park also attested to strong friend vibes between the two.
"Kim and Pete seemed like good friends," the source, who apparently spotted the pair (along with a large group that reportedly seemed to include "over a dozen security guards") at around 1:20 a.m., explained. "Kim seemed very chill. It did seem like she was trying to hide."
According to the Us source, Kim and Pete were hanging out as part of a big group and didn't seem to be particularly focused on each other (the Us report says that Pete actually seemed more focused on Stephanie Shepard, who was also part of the aforementioned large group on the outing, than anyone else in the group).
Final take: It's appropriate that the hand-holding pic was snapped on rollercoaster because that's what our emotions have been on in the few minutes it took to read about Kim and Pete's maybe-but-probably-not romance.
