Rachel Lindsay reveals her 'Bachelor' frontrunners on Matt James' season - Page Six

Rachel Lindsay thinks Bachelor Nation newbie Matt James is holding his own as “The Bachelor” this season.

“I think that Matt’s doing a good job,” Lindsay, a former “Bachelorette,” told Page Six on Wednesday.

“For someone who has never been a part of this franchise, hasn’t been on TV like this and is being asked to be a lead. To lead an entire show and navigate love, it’s difficult, and I think he’s doing a good job,” she continued.

Lindsay, 35, who currently co-hosts MTV’s “Ghosted: Love Gone Missing,” added she’s hopeful fans will see more of how James’ journey unfolds now that certain contestants — ahem, “Queen” Victoria Larson — have exited.

“I think that there’s a little bit too much focus around the drama,” Lindsay said. “I think because we’re getting so much of the drama, I’m knowing more about the villain than I am about the lead. And I’d like to get to know Matt James a little bit better, especially because we didn’t get to know him before on another season.”

James, 29, the best friend of former “Bachelorette” contestant Tyler Cameron, has forged strong connections with some participants over the past few weeks, including teacher Michelle Young, whom Lindsay considers a frontrunner.

“I think there’s a couple, and that’s because we haven’t had double dates yet, by that I mean the women haven’t had a second date with Matt, so I’m really basing it off of one-on-ones, and it seems like he has strong connections with all of them, from Bri to Serena P. to Michelle to Kit, I really think that they’re frontrunners, and particularly Michelle,” Lindsay said.

“She came in late and got a one-on-one the next day, which means he had an instant attraction to her, he felt something to the point where he wanted to give her an opportunity that the other women, who have been in the house for weeks, haven’t gotten yet, so Michelle to me is looking like a big-time frontrunner,” she continued.

In Week 4, James was introduced to five new women, including Young, 27. She received a rose during their one-on-one date as well.

Lindsay first starred in Nick Viall’s season of “The Bachelor” in 2017. Later that year, she became the first Black “Bachelorette” in franchise history and met her future husband, Bryan Abasolo. They wed in 2019.

“Ghosted: Love Gone Missing” returns Monday at 7 p.m. on MTV.
